Also, I think we should get AlmeidaIsGod members to send some stuff again. Maybe also ask over at Kiefersplace? There's some talented people over there and they are some of the better 24 fans that are online, just like us and AIG.

I'm not going to put together an actual scrapbook this year, but I'll be happy to collect notes and other gifts for Sarah and send them off in a photo album or something. I'll talk to Kasia about getting AIG members to submit.

For now, send any submissions to avery@sarah-clarke.net.

Keep an eye on the main site over the next couple of days for details. The project may be a little different this year.

This year for Sarah's birthday we're going to do something a little different and raise money for a charity she supports. Autism Speak is an organization dedicated to "funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families."

How is this going to work?

What we're going to do is donate through this tribute page. When you've made a donation, email me the amount - when we reach the deadline I'll send Sarah a card with the amount raised and the names of everyone who participated.

The link above is in my name because I had to register in my own name and address. The tribute is listed as being in Sarah's honor.

For those of you not in the US or who don't have credit cards, contact me with the amount you want to donate and I'll make the donation on your behalf; you can pay me through PayPal or a similar method.

I realize that not everyone can afford to take part in this sort of drive, which is why I'll be accepting other birthday gifts; while I won't be putting together an actual scrapbook I'll compile all artwork, messages, etc. and send them to Sarah with the birthday card. For guidelines on what sort of things can be sent, see this page.

The deadline is February 10, 2010. Email me all donations/submissions at avery@sarah-clarke.net or avery.friend@gmail.com, or PM them to me through the forum.

That is a great idea, and I'll have to message you due to neither being in the US or having a credit card (I do have PP, though).

On that page, how are you supposed to donate?

Avery, joining as an individual doesn't allow you to donate in someone's name (on my end, at least)... I think you should "Start a Tribute/Memorial page" so you can keep tracks fo the donations and all.

Wait a second, Sarah already got a page: if you click on Join a Tribute, you can pick Sarah's name from the list.
But I guess we could also create a new one.

Ila - thanks. I made the tribute page yesterday but I couldn't get it to work for me, so I thought it might be easier to do it individually. I don't know why it's not letting you do it in her name, but in any case, I've worked it out and edited the original post.

I'll donate $20, which is actually about £12, so that should be a good start.

Avery, so the Sarah Clarke tribute page in the list is the one you created?

Av, I was trying to donate but, I don't know why, something goes wrong and the transaction gets refused. I tried with two credit cards and I always get the same error (something about the card verification...), which is weird because I always use those cards on the internet. Dunno what's wrong.
Is it ok for you if I send you the money through PayPal and you make the donation on my behalf?

We're in great shape! Approaching 100$. Thanks to those of you who have contributed!

We have about two weeks until the deadline, so if you'd still like to contribute, there's plenty of time.
